Two critical domains of sustainability planning are effective resource and partnership development. The core elements of a complex grant application include a strong problem statement, data to support the problem statement, and a detailed budget justification. This two-part training will provide participants with guidance to support the implementation of their sustainability plans and learn techniques to strengthen their grant writing for local and state applications. These skills can assist the participants in creating stronger applications and improving the chance of successful, sustainable funding. As a result of this training, participants will be able to:
Identify priority areas of focus (e.g., resources, partnerships) for sustainability planning and develop implementation strategies that will build strong support for their programs and potentially lead to new funding opportunities.
Create a diversified funding plan framework, including three strategies for building a potential donor/funder database.
Identify three essential elements needed to create a compelling statement of need in a victim services grant application.
Review at least two approaches in aligning the budget justification with the grant goals and objectives. Describe the effective use of outcome measures in grant applications.
