Victim Advocates Training Begins

January 28, 2023

There is no better time to make a difference than now. Crisis Support Services of Nevada (CSSNV) is currently recruiting compassionate and caring volunteers to join our team. Training begins on January 28th — apply today and be the light in someone’s darkest moments.

We are currently recruiting for Crisis Support Specialists to volunteer in our statewide Crisis Call Center. This position can be virtual for anyone who lives in the State of Nevada, or in-person for those in Washoe County. Our Crisis Support Specialists serve a vital role in providing much-needed crisis support to anyone who needs it. Our Crisis Call Center handles all the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline calls for our state and serves as one of 11 national back-up centers, supporting individuals across the country.

We are also recruiting for Victim Advocates to volunteer in our Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) department. This role is in-person in Washoe County and responds to provide emotional support and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence. Victim Advocates also provide support to callers or texters on our 24-hour Sexual Assault Support hotline.

Space is limited and registration is currently open for our next training session that begins on January 28th via Zoom. You can view the upcoming training schedule and apply online at cssnv.org/volunteer
