SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:Dear Community Partners\, \nWe are excited to invite your organization to participate in Connected\, Not Controlled (CNCC) Day on Tuesday\, July 21\, 2026\, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This community-wide event will focus on digital safety\, technology-facilitated abuse awareness\, and the growing role of AI and technology in advocacy work. \nThis full-day training and awareness event will bring together advocates\, educators\, counselors\, law enforcement\, and community partners to explore how technology can both support and endanger survivors of domestic violence\, sexual violence\, and human trafficking. Sessions will include topics such as online safety\, AI and advocacy\, digital crimes\, human trafficking and technology\, online gaming safety for youth\, and practical tools advocates can use to better support clients. \nWe understand that stepping away from work for an entire day can be challenging\, especially for organizations serving the community directly. Therefore\, we encourage agencies to consider having at least 1–3 representatives from their organization attend and bring the information back to their teams. Our hope is to create a collaborative learning environment while making participation manageable for everyone. Please send this to other members of your organization.  \nTo support attendees throughout the day: \n\nLunch will be provided\nParticipants will receive a certificate of attendance\nThere will be opportunities for networking\, discussion\, and hands-on learning\n\nThe last day to register is Friday\, June 26\, 2026. Additional details regarding the event location\, agenda\, parking\, and logistics will be shared with registered participants closer to the event date. Please register using the QR Code below or using the following link: Connected\, Not Controlled Campaign  – Fill out form \nWe truly believe this event will provide valuable tools and insight that can strengthen advocacy efforts across Northern Nevada and help our community better respond to technology-facilitated harm. \nWe hope you will join us and be part of this important conversation. \nThank you for your continued partnership and commitment to community safety.
