It takes an entire community of people to affect real change, and the mission to end violence is no different. There are many ways to get involved. You can volunteer, take action, or simply donate. Learn more about how you can help here. Or, if you’re interested in discussing a specific idea or project you think could help support our efforts at NCEDSV, please contact us.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence relies partially on donations from our community to continue our work in education and advocacy. Your donation will help us continue to support Nevada’s direct-service organizations, educate Nevadans on issues of violence, and create positive change for all those in our state affected by violence. Ongoing financial support is crucial as we continue the life-saving work of domestic and sexual violence advocacy.

Jan Evans was one of Nevada’s most beloved and accomplished legislators. As the volunteer lobbyist for the agency, Jan Evans worked to pass landmark marriage license fee legislation in 1981 to increase funding for victims of domestic in Nevada.

During her seven terms in the assembly, Jan fought to protect funding and also worked tirelessly as a champion for women’s and children’s issues, even during her struggle with cancer. To those of us at NCEDSV who were lucky enough to know her, Jan was a friend, an advocate, and a mentor. Jan Evans died from ovarian cancer on April, 24, 2000.

To commemorate her compassion, courage, and integrity, NNADV inaugurated the Jan Evans Direct Assistance Fund. The Fund provides direct emergency financial assistance grants of up to $500 to battered women and their children who are fleeing abusive relationships or attempting to reestablish themselves after leaving such situations.

No administrative costs are covered by the Jan Evans Fund; 100 percent of all donations go directly to meet the needs of victims. To donate to the Jan Evans Direct Assistance Fund, please contact us.
