NCEDSV provides technical assistance (meaning direct, problem-solving services), to Nevada’s domestic and sexual violence service programs and providers.

VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA)

Partners:Alternatives for Living in Violence Environments (ALIVE), Lyon County; Committee to Aid Abused Women, Washoe County; Domestic Violence Intervention, Churchill County: Safe Nest: Temporary Assistance for Domestic Crisis, Clark County.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services passes through federal VOCA funding to local programs throughout the state. NCEDSV provides pass-through funding for Hotline Services, Protection Order Assistance, and Peer Counseling to our VOCA partners.  Through VOCA funding, NCEDSV also provides interpretive services through the Language Line for all program members.

FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION SERVICES ACT (FVPSA)

Partners: Alternatives for Living in Violence Environments (ALIVE), Lyon County; Committee to Aid Abused Women, Washoe County; Domestic Violence Intervention, Churchill County: Safe Nest: Temporary Assistance for Domestic Crisis, Clark County.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services passes through federal FVSPA funding to local programs throughout the state. NCEDSV provides pass-through funding for shelter and supportive services to assist victims of domestic violence while residing in the shelter.

GRANTS TO ENCOURAGE ARREST PROCEDURES (GEAP)

Partners: Safe Nest: Temporary Assistance for Domestic Crisis, Clark County, and Tahoe Safe Alliance, Washoe County.

The Office of Violence Violence Against Women through the U.S. Department of Justice provides discretionary funds to enhances victims access to protection orders with the GEAP grants. NCEDSV has partnered with Safe Nest and TSA to enhance their Protection Order Advocacy services. Additionally, NCEDSV is embarking upon a three-year project gathering input from different systems that intersect with domestic violence including law enforcement, prosecutors, defense attorneys, victims, victim services, and court systems to develop recommendations and best practices for the state.

RURAL GRANT

Partners: Committee Against Domestic Violence, Elko, Eureka, and White Pine Counties; Consolidated Agencies for Human Services, Mineral County; Domestic Violence Intervention, Churchill County: Winnemucca Domestic Violence Services, Humboldt County.

NCEDSV has partnered with four rural partners to enhance their advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with enhanced training and technical assistance in the area of sexual violence services.
