Description
Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) is the only evidence-based program that trains and motivates athletic coaches of young men’s sports teams to promote healthy relationships and positive bystander intervention through 12 weekly discussions. Integrated easily into the sports season, CBIM is a manageable program for coaches and can create positive cultural change to the culture of teams as well as the surrounding community. Topics addressed include: Respect and Personal Responsibility; Disrespectful Behavior Towards Women and Girls; Understanding Consent; Conflict and Communication; and more. During this session, we will discuss the core elements of the CBIM, how to build local support for the program, and the program’s extensive community of practice that new implementers can connect with and learn from.
The presenter is Jesse Mahler. Since Jan. 2020, Jesse has been a Senior Program Specialist for Futures Without Violence, San Francisco, CA.
