As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence relies partially on donations from our community to continue our work in education and advocacy. Your donation will help us continue to support Nevada’s direct-service organizations, educate Nevadans on issues of violence, and create positive change for all those in our state affected by violence. Ongoing financial support is crucial as we continue the life-saving work of domestic and sexual violence advocacy.
Settings of Support Club (SOS)
Join the Settings of Support Club and demonstrate your commitment to the work of NCEDSV and help change the world one dollar/one person at a time. The Settings of Support (SOS) Club is the NCEDSV’s club of annual supporters. The domestic violence movement started around the kitchen table as women reached out to women providing support and sustenance. NCEDSV invites you to join our SOS Club by selecting a virtual seat assignment by giving an annual donation at any levels specified below. Kitchen Table: annual donation of $100 – $499. Kitchen Table members will receive an official SOS member certificate and will be recognized as an SOS member in the newsletter. Round Table: annual donation of $100 – $999. As the domestic violence movement grew and developed, we began participating at round tables to develop coordinated community responses for a multidisciplinary approach to ending domestic violence. Round Table members will receive an official framed SOS member certificate, a mug, and will be recognized as an SOS member in the newsletter. Board Room Table: annual donation of $1,000+. As we continue to grow and develop, we know that our participation at all levels of decision making is critical, changing the way our communities think and act about domestic violence. Board Room table members will be invited to an annual appreciation luncheon, receive an official framed SOS certificate, a mug, and will be recognized as an SOS member in the newsletter. If you would like to be a member of the Settings of Support (SOS) Club, please contact us.
Jan Evans Direct Assistance Fund
Jan Evans was one of Nevada’s most beloved and accomplished legislators. As the volunteer lobbyist for the agency, Jan Evans worked to pass landmark marriage license fee legislation in 1981 to increase funding for victims of domestic in Nevada. During her seven terms in the assembly, Jan fought to protect funding and also worked tirelessly as a champion for women’s and children’s issues, even during her struggle with cancer. To those of us at NCEDSV who were lucky enough to know her, Jan was a friend, an advocate, and a mentor. Jan Evans died from ovarian cancer on April, 24, 2000. To commemorate her compassion, courage, and integrity, NNADV inaugurated the Jan Evans Direct Assistance Fund. The Fund provides direct emergency financial assistance grants of up to $500 to battered women and their children who are fleeing abusive relationships or attempting to reestablish themselves after leaving such situations. No administrative costs are covered by the Jan Evans Fund; 100 percent of all donations go directly to meet the needs of victims. To donate to the Jan Evans Direct Assistance Fund, please contact us.
